December 2024 Museletter: Aligning Mind and Heart - A Path to Lasting Fulfillment
Supporting you to free your mind so you can live from your heart!
“The Way of the Heart is not the way of the intellect; for, indeed, that aspect of the mind was never designed to be your master. It was designed to be the humble, and — if you will pardon the expression — very stupid servant of the Awakened Heart. The Heart is that which feels all things, embraces all things, trusts all things, allows all things. The Heart is that in which the soul rests eternally. The Heart is that which is beyond space and time and is that spark of Light in the Mind of God, which is called Christ. And only in That will you find the peace that you seek.”

Aligning Mind and Heart: A Path to Lasting Fulfillment
The intellect often leads us into believing that peace and fulfillment lie “out there” somewhere. It fixates on external people, places, substances, and possessions. It urges us to chase more. Yet the intellect is never satisfied.
This constant longing may feel like a curse, but it can also become a gift. By learning to channel the intellect in service of the Heart, we transform this restlessness into a powerful tool for growth and alignment.
How to Align the Intellect with the Heart
1. Identify Your Life’s Intentions
Begin by discovering what is truly meaningful for you to engage with in life. In coaching, we call this uncovering your life’s intentions.
A life’s intention is an inner direction, aim, or purpose that gives profound meaning to your life. It comes from deep within and serves as the driving spirit behind your goals and dreams. It reflects a genuine desire to contribute to others and to be known for that contribution.
Once you consciously identify your life’s intentions, you can align your actions with them, creating greater clarity and purpose.
2. Live from Your Standards of Integrity
Another powerful way to ground the intellect in the wisdom of the Heart is to demonstrate your standards of integrity. These are timeless qualities of being that reflect who you truly are, regardless of your thoughts, feelings, or external circumstances.
When you live in alignment with your standards of integrity, you feel fulfilled, coherent, and whole. Conversely, when you stray from them, you feel disconnected, unfulfilled, and suffer.
This suffering often leads you to search externally for peace and fulfillment—a futile quest that keeps you trapped in a loop. Instead, returning to your life's intentions and standards of integrity helps you reconnect with the truth of who you are.
Breaking the Loop
One of the most beautiful aspects of being human is our innate desire to grow and evolve. Through self-awareness, we have the capacity to adapt, learn, and align ourselves with the deeper truths of the Heart.
The intellect, when guided by the Heart, becomes a tool for meaningful creation and service. By identifying your life’s intentions and living according to your standards of integrity, you align yourself with your true essence.
In doing so, you move beyond the endless search for fulfillment “out there” and rest in the peace that comes from within—the peace of the Awakened Heart.
I Affirm: Today I create three minutes to sit quietly and take a few deep breaths. With my hand on my heart, I notice the peace and stillness inside myself. It’s been there all along.
Step by Step,
